Guangzhou Motor Show

When Creative Technology was approached to supply high end video equipment with only 2 weeks notice, for the prestigious Honda exhibition stand at the Guangzhou Motorshow. CT rose to the challenge and pulled out all the stops to make it happen for their client Exhibit Works.

The stand was designed and had already been built to work with MiSTRIP and Barco ILite 6, with processing equipment including Watchout and Spyder. All of this was supplied through our newly opened office and warehouse in Shanghai with support from the experienced team in London.

The launch in China of the 8th generation Honda Accord meant the stand had to have the technology and impressive features the Asian market demand. The backdrop of the stand featured a mix of Barco ILite6 HD screens interspersed with MiSTRIP screens. MiSTRIP also formed the simple, yet effective and imposing backdrop to the top half of the entire stand. As the stand’s primary focus was the launch car, additional MiSTRIP was positioned on this section, running floor to stand ceiling and forming a sweeping background, naturally drawing the audience’s attention towards the car.

The Watchout system was used to create the eye-catching backdrop, giving it movement and depth. One of the most stunning featured a basketball landing on the central screen, then moving seamlessly along the MiSTRIP backdrop and accompanying screens.

Spyder was used for the Press Launch, allowing picture in picture applications with live camera, graphics and VT to deliver the clients message.

With only a 4 day build, the timings were already very ambitious. But the schedule got even tighter when some of the kit coming straight from the Tokyo Motor Show, was temporarily declined entry into China, cutting the build time to 2 days. However, once again the entire CT team rose to the challenge and delivered everything with seamless precision.
